Overview
The study looks at product development as both a technical and a communicative process, in settings where founders stay directly involved in product, editorial, governance or audience decisions.
Research design
The study uses constructivist grounded theory and a qualitative two-phase design.
Phase one is an analytic autoethnographic case study of Oriire, the platform I founded and run.
Phase two will use semi-structured interviews with founders of other niche media platforms.
